
BLET's Eastern General Chairmen honor the late Bob Godwin at annual meetingCLEVELAND, July 22 - Tom Roberts was reelected Chairman of the BLET Eastern General Chairmen's Association at their annual meeting on July 8. The meeting was held this year during the Eastern Union Meeting Association (EUMA) annual convention at the Sawmill Creek Resort in Huron, Ohio. Brother Roberts serves the Brotherhood as General Chairman of the Conrail SAA/CSX-Northern District General Committee of Adjustment. Along with his reelection to the office of Chairman of the Eastern General Chairmen's Association, Brother Roberts will also serve as a Delegate to the National Wage/Rule Committee. Other officers were elected as follows: Mark Kenny (Amtrak) was reelected Vice Chairman; Ben Martin (New York, Susquehanna & Western) was reelected Secretary-Treasurer; and Rich Dixon (SEPTA) and Cole Davis (Norfolk Southern-Northern Lines) were elected to complete the Executive Board. Brother Jim Louis (Secretary-Treasurer of the Conrail SAA/CSXT Northern District GCA) was elected as Alternate to the Wage and Rule Committee, filling a vacancy created by the recent elevation of Brother Mike Twombly to National Vice President. All Association Officers were elected by acclamation. The assembled General Chairmen discussed a variety of vital issues, and voted to donate $1,000 from the Eastern General Chairmen's Association to the BLET Auxiliary/EUMA Scholarship Fund in the name of deceased brother Robert W. Godwin Sr. Brother Godwin served as Conrail General Chairman and Chairman of the Eastern General Chairmen's Association for a number of years. |
